The Vrbas dayak boat is a specific boat only for the river Vrbas and the city of Banjaluka, like a gondola for Venice. The assumption is that the Vrbas boat was created when the city of Banja Luka was. Over the centuries, this unusual vessel has become a symbol of the city, leaving its mark on the culture of the people of Banja Luka. It was used for commercial purposes, for transporting goods from coast to coast, along the water or down the water. For navigation, a 15-kilometer long route is used, in the urban part of the city, where Vrbas is characterized by shallow depths along the banks and a suitable bottom for pushing off with a pole, which is how the boat got its name.
